It has been decided to create new work tables, with sectoral and Administration representatives to advance the application of the different measures present in the Plan and convene meetings of the already existing working groups. This new version of the Plan includes some new measures that complement those already started in 2010 and that also try to respond to the current and structural difficulties that the goat dairy sector is currently facing..
One of the most relevant elements is the inclusion of this sector in the scope of application of the future Royal Decree that will regulate contractual relations and instruments to improve the producer's negotiating capacity., allowing Producer Organizations to negotiate a contract collectively, and the reinforcement of interprofessional organizations. All this will be key for the goat milk sector.
Among the new measures, First of all, the inclusion of cured or semi-cured blended cheeses as an eligible product in community aid for the distribution of food among the most needy people stands out., which could lead to the withdrawal from the national market of a volume of goat milk greater than the 600.000 kg, allocating for this an approximate budget of 1,66 Millions of Euros.
On the other hand, The possibility of modifying the current lines of action framed within the article will be assessed. 68 of the Community Regulation on CAP aid, to design measures that benefit goat farms located in disadvantaged areas or with specific access difficulties, to facilitate milk collection or feed supply.
Along these lines, the measures of the Royal Decree on groups in the sheep and goat sector will be complemented., with a new regulatory provision that will provide specific actions for dairy goat groups, favoring the granting of aid to those that jointly produce and market goat milk and dairy products.
During the meeting with the sector it was decided to create new work tables, with sectoral and Administration representatives, in articulating about the health plan and the new aid, to advance the application of the different measures present in the plan and convene new meetings of the existing working groups.
