Donkeys farm of the village disappears.

The La Aldea donkey farm has closed. Its owner, Peter Medina, changes activity and this forces him to leave the municipality. After more than a decade recovering, promoting and promoting a disused animal, has been forced to leave.

Pedro Medina told Agroaldea his regret at having to abandon the donkeys, although they are placed in good hands. A new project starts this week: a livestock farm with about thirty cows from Germany.

The donkeys of La Aldea have been present at Fairs, Threshings and pilgrimages, traveling to the last corner of the island of Gran Canaria. The donkeys were expected by everyone, especially for boys and girls, since the docility of Pe's donkeysdro was more than known.

What started as a hobby, It grew until it had a donkey cabin that exceeded twenty. Pedro Medina was concerned about recovering those animals “from the earth”, highlighting the specimen “majorero”.

Most of the specimens remain among family and friends and two of which he does not plan to part with.. Pedro Medina remembers the numerous projects he had pending with the donkeys, but as he himself says, “administrations and their deadlines are not made for me”.

With the loss of this farm we are left with one less possibility in the arduous work of recovering a breed that, in the Canary Islands, is on its way to extinction.
