The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Pesca y Aguas of the Cabildo of Gran Canaria presented the new Agricultural and Livestock purchasing center of Gran Canaria in Valsequillo, island-based and based in this municipality in the midlands.

During the event it was explained that this new purchasing center will serve “to reduce and improve the cost of production, especially the input, the machinery, livestock feeding and seeds”.

‘Agriculture and Livestock of Gran Canaria’ It is a non-profit company that will provide service to the municipality, but it will also have an island scope, given that it already has partners from outside Valsequillo.

This purchasing center has a subsidy from the Cabildo of Gran Canaria and is proposed “take plots of land so that they can also survive by planting that land owned by the Cabildo, that it is useless to have it vacant without production”, according to Francisco Santana, insular advisor of Agriculture and Livestock.

After the presentation of the purchasing center, the delivery of fruit trees took place, mainly citrus, deciduous and olive trees, to a hundred beneficiaries. The organization reserved fifty copies, among nectarines, plum trees, Apple trees, apricots and persimmons, for residents who have not yet had access to the “Fruit Tree Campaign” organized in the municipality.
