THE SUM OF SEVERAL BREAKAGES IN A GOOD PART OF THE MACHINERY FORCES THE DECISION TO MAKE.

The COALDEA Cooperative has made the decision to stop the production of cheeses since the state of an important part of the machinery used, does not guarantee the sanitary conditions required by current regulations.
The president of COALDEA, Claudio Quintana, explained that several pieces of the factory's infrastructure are showing the passage of time, producing notable breaks that make it impossible to continue the activity.

Quintana indicated that the curd vats have been the ones that have suffered the most over time, which added to other elements of the factory chain, force to make this stop. However, the cold rooms continue to function and the last batches of cheese manufactured are maturing in them.

The president of COALDEA states that the factory breakdowns have coincided in time, third quarter results and seasonal milk shortages, that make it impossible to deal with the necessary repairs immediately.

Claudio Quintana points out that they are still studying the economic viability of carrying out the repairs, since some technicians have suggested to carry out the replacement due to the possibility that chained breaks occur again due to age.

Just over a year ago, the factory suffered a boiler failure that had to be replaced by a new one, which meant a halt in activity and the loss of a considerable part of the stored cheese.

However, Quintana has informed customers that COALDEA will continue to make its cheese in a small factory located in the municipality of Telde, as long as a solution to the situation is found, for which the investment of food wholesalers is not ruled out.
