IT WILL PROPOSE THE REGIONS TO ALLOCATE THE MAXIMUM BUDGET.

Elena EspinosaDuring the appearance before the Environment Commission, Agriculture and Fisheries Congress, the Minister of Environment and Rural and Marine Affairs, Elena Espinosa, has explained the results of the intermediate reform of the Community Agricultural Policy approved last 20 November.

The minister referred to it as it "recognizes the strategic nature of agriculture as it strengthens agricultural economic activity and consolidates direct aid to farmers".

Espinosa has reiterated that he started from a very restrictive proposal that has been improved to meet the interests of Spanish agriculture, leaving a safety net that contemplates mechanisms for market intervention and keeping the budget tab in 5.200 million euros for Spain.

The minister pointed out that the reform will make it possible to make use of the funds that remain unused and that represent up to 4% of the national direct aid envelope, which for Spain will mean the use of up to 200 million euros per year.

In this sense, Elena Epinosa announced her intention to propose to the Autonomous Communities to dedicate the maximum budget that the European Union allows to the incorporation of young people into the countryside.
