What is considered the most important agricultural and livestock fair in the Canary Islands, EAGF, celebrates its edition of 2015, the twenty-ninth in its history, of the 16 to the 19 April at the fairgrounds set up at the Pozo Negro Experimental Agricultural Farm.

The Livestock Technical Conferences, that will serve to present the latest news related to the sector, They repeat the formula of the previous year and go ahead of the fair to celebrate the 8 to the 10 April at the Antigua Casino.

After holding the technical conferences, The highlights of the program in Pozo Negro will be the National Goat's Milk Cheese Competition – Tabefe awards Fuerteventura, unique of its kind at the state level, the exhibition of almost a thousand heads of cattle, holding livestock competitions (morphological, milk yield, etc.) that serve as a meeting point for ranchers and to measure the quality of their cabins, the traditional goat auction, and different events related to the recovery and enhancement of the native Canarian breeds, among others.

Among the new features this year are the return of the Apañada de Monteagudo, that will arrive at noon on Saturday in Pozo Negro, or the recovery of the 'Fuerteventura Biosphere Pigeon Derby', in which the arrival of pigeons released in Tenerife is expected after touring 250 kilometers.

FEAGA Presentation 2015The Livestock Technical Conference will bring together a variety of experts from different parts of the Canary Islands and the peninsula., who will present the latest news on topics such as the collective marketing of cheeses, nutrition and diseases in goat farming, Correct hygiene practices in the production of artisan cheese, o practical feeding in dairy goats, among others.

Continuing in the line of recent years, Majorero farm products will play an important role in the fair, through cheese tastings, tastings, shows cooking, or direct sales to the public at the cheese shops and at the Biosphere Agricultural Market..

The thousands of visitors, the dozens of cheese factories and livestock farms attending, the hundreds of companies and institutions represented, the countless contests, charlas, exhibitions and presentations, or the presence of around thirty different varieties of livestock, they make this fair by numbers, diversity and quality, the most important of its kind at the regional level.

EAGF 2015

The edition of 2015 of FEAGA offers us the possibility of enjoying an event that is no longer just the Fuerteventura Fair, but the appointment with the most important primary sector in the entire Archipelago due to the quality of the livestock on display.

In last year's edition, they gathered 950 heads of cattle on display. Goat stallions were auctioned for up to 1.025 euros and the 50 first genetic certificates of Majorera breed donkeys.

The individual milk performance contest resulted in first place for a specimen that performed 10,5 kilos. And Julián Díaz's pasteurized milk cured cheese, was chosen as the best cheese in the Canary Islands, in the XII national goat's milk cheese competition 'Tabefe Awards’ in which they competed 114 cheeses from industries in six autonomous communities.
