The projection of the adventure of the journey of the Canarian tomato closes the XXII Conference techniques of agriculture held in Tuineje, Fuerteventura.
Before a hundred people, mainly tomato farmers, presented the documentary 'The long journey of the Canarian tomato', within the framework of the XXII Conference techniques of Agriculture of Fuerteventura.
Among those present was a large number of farmers and technicians of the agricultural cooperative Gran Tarajal, represented by its President Juan Sardinia and it Manager, Oscar González.
The documentary, of 32 minutes in length, It showed the long journey of the Canarian tomato since it is harvested in a greenhouse in the village, until you reach a supermarket in the center of Europe. In addition, using the technique of the 'flashback' documentary draws brush-strokes of the origin of the crop and the vicissitudes of the transportation throughout its history.
Narrated in the first person, its author, Gustavo Rodriguez, He has experience in the last ship of the harvest campaign 2014/2015 and interview several people related to the activity of the sector which it encounters throughout his journey.
In addition, the documentary starts the journey in the municipality of the village in a clear homage to seven women who conducted a hunger strike to demand the dignity of the sector, and continuing the journey the village Agaete to add to the demand for a safe road that villagers are claiming for decades.
