THE CITY COUNCIL PROMOTES PARTICIPATION AMONG FARMERS AND LIVESTOCK RANCHES IN THE DIRECT SALES PROJECT.

Councilor for Agriculture of the City of La Aldea, Rosa Godoy, promotes among primary sector producers, the marketing project “direct sales” that the Cabildo of Gran Canaria is developing with some hotel chains.

Godoy pointed to Agroaldea that it is about favoring the appropriate channels, to establish the conditions and requirements that allow producers to market their products directly with consumers.

Something similar to what is being done with the municipal agricultural markets, but the difference is that the marketing in this case would be carried out with “big consumers”, avoiding intermediation in the chain that, normally, hurts producers, Godoy pointed out.

To do this, has called both farmers and ranchers of the municipality to an information day that will take place the next day 5 May at 18:30 hours at the headquarters of the Agrarian Extension Agency of the municipality.

The Minister of Agriculture will attend the event, Demetrio Suarez, responsible for COAG Canarias, of the project “Direct harvest” and the village council council.
