The Councillor of agriculture, Livestock and fisheries of the village, Rosa Godoy, It has been reported that City Hall has officially completed the request for qualification as a rural area to revitalize, Since the municipality complies with all the requirements and "some more" to be named as such.
Rosa Godoy recalled that this proposal is transmitted by the Minister of agriculture, Pilar Merino, during the visit to the municipality which was accompanied by several CEOs, among which was that of Rural Development, Ernesto Aguiar.
The municipality of the village provides all requirements which are explicit in the law for the sustainable development of rural, to qualify as a "rural area" to revitalize, as such a high significance of agricultural activity, among others.
The mayor said that this recognition impacts favourably on the social and economic development of the municipality, enabling you to benefit from various programmes and actions included in the Plan of Rural development of the Canary Islands.
Rosa Godoy acknowledged that at the present time any statement, performance or aid aimed at the improvement of the primary sector, main economic engine of the village, will be well received.
The Councillor said that from the area who heads continues working at a good pace in the strategy for the sector, It includes a programme of actions in the short, medium and long term that must be present all administrations.
One of the basic pillars on which pivoting strategy is to work effectively so that the village is free of pests or, at the very least, controlled in 2015. Also, for this same date another objective is to ensure that all production is carried out with the application of the integrated fight.
