COAG Canary VicepdtaRequested a more diversified training offer that improves training in more specific subjects.

The vice president and counselor of Employment, Social Policies and Housing, Patricia Hernandez, held a meeting with the president of the Coordinator of Farmers and Livestock Organizations, (COAG), Rafael Hernández, and members of the organization, with the aim of review the actions they develop jointly and delve into new lines of action that improve the economic results of this sector.

The vice president asked the representatives of the Canarian farmers and ranchers, What For next year, present a more diversified training offer that improves training in more specific subjects.

“The training offered by the Coordinator of Farmers and Ranchers - stated Patricia Hernández- has a high insertion percentage, but it is true that we must train experts in more specific subjects that allow the Canary Islands to be more competitive in the offer of agricultural and livestock products”.

“A more specialized training offer - he added- will allow us to continue training for employment, improve quality and at the same time be more competitive with our products in the market”.

Both officials agreed on the need and opportunity for employment that this training in agriculture and livestock represents for many young people with difficulties in accessing a job.. In this sense, both They committed to expanding the number of participants for next year's training offer.

Among other matters, They also addressed the importance of raising awareness about the measure of social inclusion which means the possibility of having dual ownership in agricultural and livestock farms in the case of couples in which both work.

During the meeting, in which the commissioner of Social Inclusion and Fight against Poverty was also present, Nestor Hernandez, The representative of the farmers and ranchers associations expressed his commitment to the Government of the Canary Islands to collaborate with their contributions in the technical teams that will be formalized for the drafting of the Social Inclusion Plan.
