The Cabildo of Lanzarote and farmers of this island have launched a project to develop organic olive oil and work in a differentiated brand.
The project, called 'Olivar Ecological', He began his third season that will end next day 30 September. According to the technique of Agriculture of the Cabildo lanzaroteño, Ana Garrido, "This is aimed at farmers who want to become professionals in the olive season so they are given 300 plants for growing profits ".
With copies purchased, at a cost of 2,70 Euro unit, farmers receive, without any cost, hurdle for staking plants and protective mesh rabbits for new plantings. Distribute varieties, as in previous campaigns, They are of oil-producing species.
In addition, participants receive technical and personalized advice on owned land crop and consulting since the beginning of planting until obtaining the first oils. Farmers assigned to this project will also receive training courses and lectures on culture.
