San_Juan_de_la_Rambla_Santa_Cruz_de_Tenerife2The Council will work for the primary sector of the municipality, It will be a permanent organ of participation, of a consultative and advisory nature and information on municipal policy in the agricultural and livestock field.

The City Council of the Villa de San Juan de la Rambla approved in the last Ordinary Plenary the Regulatory Regulation of the future Local Agrarian Council, in order to provide the municipality with a body that assumes relations with the primary sector, that articulates the participation of agricultural professional organizations, that recognizes the important role they play in the democratic backbone of the rural world and, at the same time, that it serves for the better development of the own municipal agrarian competences delegated by the Ramblero Consistory.

With this premise, the Department of Agriculture directed by the mayor Félix Reyes intends to turn this body into a complementary channel of advice and participation in agricultural matters, a channel of participation that enriches the municipal activity of the sector and a direct channel of communication between the City Council and the people and institutions that know more about the specific reality of the agricultural and livestock sector of the municipality.

For the proper development of this organ, within the Regulatory Regulation the composition of the Local Agrarian Council is specified, which will have a representative from each political group that makes up the Plenary of the Corporation, and representatives of each community of irrigators legally constituted and based in the municipality, of the agrarian associations of the Villa, of the Societies of Hunters with hunting activity in the term ramblero, from someone on behalf of the Cooperative sector and S.A.T. agricultural companies with registered office in San Juan de la Rambla and a technician from the Agrarian Extension office of the Cabildo Insular de Tenerife.

The Plenary Session of the Council will meet regularly at least once a quarter and, extraordinary when deemed appropriate by the Presidency or at the request of a third of the members that comprise it, accompanying the agenda, with a maximum of two annually.

Already approved by the municipal plenary, The Regulation will enter into force after its publication in the Official Bulletin of the Province and after the term indicated by law..
