THE MINISTER OF AGRICULTURE ANNOUNCES IN CONGRESS THE CREATION OF THIS PLAN TO MAKE IT A REFERENCE IN THE WORLD.
Minister of Agriculture, Food and environment, Isabel García Tejerina, has appeared in the Agriculture Commission of the Congress of Deputies to detail the general lines of his actions until the end of the legislature.
Tejerina reported that his department is preparing a new national plan to improve life in rural areas, although at the moment the details of the document have not been revealed, more than the idea of conceiving it as an economic diversification plan.
However, has pointed out that the objectives will be co-responsible with his two major proposals in order to end the legislature, which are "to make the Spanish agri-food system a benchmark in the world" and to guarantee the conservation and improvement of the natural heritage for the benefit of the entire Spanish society..
The minister referred first to the Common Agricultural Policy (PAC) and the negotiations that have already entered their "final stretch" with the autonomous communities. In fact, García Tejerina intends to have the application of the future CAP closed "in the fall" with the definitive elaboration of the national regulations.
García Tejerina has insisted that the proposal of all the autonomous communities with whose officials he has held at least one meeting has been taken into account and a document is being prepared that is divided into two Royal Decrees, one that collects the basic payment lines, and the second, with the rest of the payments, among them, the trailers.
Among the main courses of action, The minister has highlighted the "step forward" represented by the new definition of active farmer, as well as the 96 million euros annually that will be allocated to young people with the aim of becoming an "excellent stimulus" for their incorporation.
Regarding the future national Rural Development Plan that will not take long to be known, The minister has said that it will be equipped with 500 million euros and will collect, among other lines, aid for the concentration of cooperatives or other means for infrastructure such as irrigation.
