However, those that can be seen in the photographs far exceed a kilo. to be precise: 1 kilo and 900 grams and, the other, 1 kilo and 400 grams.
The feat has happened in the town of Las Norias in El Ejido, known as “the orchard of southern Europe”. Neither the type of seed nor the care that the farmer has administered to the plant have transpired, but everything indicates that they will not be the only ones to be harvested.
The person in charge of presenting these two wonders has been the provincial secretary of COAG in Almería, Andres Gongora, who expressed his surprise and highlighted the good work of farmers to harvest products like this.
The tomato, which is known as a pink tomato, has been grown in a greenhouse. The farmer is from La Mojonera, affiliated with Coag and has the farm in Las Norias de Daza.
The size of the tomato is not exceptional since, on the same day, another fruit with similar characteristics was cut, specifically of 1 kilo 400 grams.
What is clear to us is that with half a tomato you can prepare a more than loose salad.
