The Almeria company Agrobío has reached a strategic collaboration agreement with the French cooperative group Invivo with the aim of starting in Almería the large-scale distribution of the world's first biological solution against the Tuta Absoluta pest in greenhouses..
Through said agreement, Invivo provides Agrobío with the necessary knowledge to make it possible for Almería to have the native species Tricchogramma Achaeae against the Tuta pest.
The alliance between Agrobío and Invivo was essential to make the arrival in the Almeria countryside of a biological solution against the Tuta Absoluta plague a reality.. Laproducción de un nuevo enemigo natural se incorporará de inmediato a los protocolos de control biológico para cultivos intensivos en varios países europeos.
El trabajo se remonta a dos años, justo cuando la empresa Agrobío encargó a la Universidad de Almería la búsqueda de enemigos naturales contra la Tuta. Tras identificar a la especie autóctona que se alimentaba de Tuta, se realizaron ensayos controlados que sirvieron para evaluar la eficacia de la especie.
Actualmente se están beneficiando de esta solución Murcia, Almería, Granada, Málaga y Cádiz.
