The distribution of plants will be free, of the 17 to the 21 November Biological Station La Oliva, in time 10:30 to 13:00 hours.
The Cabildo de Fuerteventura began its annual campaign distribution of native plant species, an initiative that takes place on the occasion of Arbor Day.
The Ministry of Environment of the Cabildo who runs Natalia Évora, organizes this distribution free of charge to all interested, well “the goal is to enable individuals to plant these species in their homes and on their land, thus contributing to reforest the island territory and mitigate own processes of an arid island such as erosion and desertification”.
Évora recalled that in recent years the Ministry of Environment has managed to distribute among the population “a figure higher than ever 2.000 copies, what we consider an important figure that is contributing to involve people in protecting and improving our territory”.
During the campaign 2013 Biological Station, the Cabildo distributed 2.200 copies to a total of 602 people.
Until the end of stocks, Biological Station up to be distributed 10 plants applicant, between species propagated in nurseries of the Cabildo during the last year, which they have been palm trees, Dragos, peralillos, algarrobos, tabaibas, lentisco, higueras, spice rack, tajinaste white and canary teasel. For reasons of availability, only one instance of white tajinaste be distributed and peralillo per applicant.
To remove plants, only necessary to show your ID card and fill out the application form at the Biological Station of La Oliva own, located at the Boyajo s / n, in the town of La Oliva.
On the occasion of Arbor Day, Canarias held in the 3rd Sunday in November, the Ministry of Environment, Transport and Presidency, It plans to begin a campaign of distribution of different plants in the nursery of the Biological Station of La Oliva.
