BUT NEVERTHELESS, Despite this reality it INDICATES THAT ARE NOT ENOUGH STUFF trained technicians.

President of the Center for Rural Studies and International Agriculture, DIVORCE, José Luis Porcuna considers that Spain has considerable delay in terms of professional training in organic farming and an outstanding debt to the dissemination of the history and culture of the country agrarian.

Porcuna made the remarks in the context of the course “agroecology, Food Sovereignty and Development Cooperation” that develops in Tenerife under the supervision of Prof. Federico Aguilera Klink, Meri Jaizme and Juan Carlos González.

Porcuna Coto said the CERAI has extensive experience in the sector, in which he develops his studies since 25 years, in order to be released nexus where professionals working in agro-ecological issues are found and rural development, work was not only focused on the Spanish State, but had an international vision,

The expert explains that the problem of agriculture in Spain for two important facts arises in our schools: because he has taught us not to read a label of any product, is a food or a garment, although during our life stopped not to consume, and because we are never speaks of our agrarian history, which it is a common link binding the peoples of Spain.

José Luis Porcuna Spain sees in this abandonment casual yet does not occur in major countries around the world. In this sense, recalls that Spain made a democratic transition in political terms, however the transition should take place in other important approaches, as academic or legal.

Regarding the academic point of view, this transition has not finished making, since the key sites of universities and research centers have been democratized very slowly, so that we can say that in Spain there has been a revolution of science with twenty years late, Porcuna said.

It ensures that Spain is the EU country with the largest area under organic farming, something because we have many farmers who have decided to take the plunge. However, in 2016 is the assurance that we will not have any technical trained and specialized in organic farming because they would have to have started training this year and that has not happened.

Finally, CERAI president criticized not only not be able to move forward, but even dangerously step back.
