The Territorial Director in the Canary Islands of the financial entity CaixaBank, Andrés Orozco Muñoz, accompanied by the person responsible for agricultural development – AgroBank, Mª del Carmen Moreno and the director of the La Caixa office in La Aldea, Iballa Wolf Eye, They visited the COAGRISÁN cooperative where they were accompanied by the Rector and the general director of the same.

VP COAGRISÁN, Rogelio Rodriguez, -together with members of the Rector-, was in charge of welcoming them and taking the tour of the cooperative facilities: store, packaging, offices and greenhouses.

At the end of the circuit they held a meeting in which the general director, Jacinto Godoy, presented the different actions of COAGRISÁN as well as the main lines on which its model is based, in which professionalism and innovation are key pieces.

On the other hand, Andres Orozco, congratulated those responsible for COAGRISÁN for what he described as an example of professionalism, entrepreneurship and knowing how to do, definitely, have an impact on good results. In addition, crop diversification, demonstrates the level of adaptation and constant evolution of this cooperative, Orozco highlighted.

Caixa2As part of the visit, The Territorial Director explained the importance of the primary sector for the entity, announcing CaixaBank's commitment to AgroBank, a network of 400 specialized offices in the sector of which the La Aldea branch is also a part.

The current economic prospects for growth in the agricultural sector have contributed to strengthening CaixaBank's leading position in the agricultural business., in which Spain occupies fourth place in the EU in agricultural production.

Orozco highlighted that this sector is fundamental for the economy of the Canary Islands, not only for the production itself, but for what it means in the maintenance of the landscape that translates into a transcendent value for the Archipelago.

We are not oblivious to the reality of the Canary Islands in which insularity conditions any activity that is carried out.. Hence, the primary sector has a tool that is different from that of the continent.: the POSEI. So, The support of the EU and the administrations is essential to guarantee competition on equal terms, indicated the Territorial Director.

AgroBank incorporates new products aimed at the sector and designed taking into account the needs of the different agricultural and livestock subsectors. The current catalog is completed with other services such as the edition of agricultural studies and publications, providing personalized information on grants, aid or news from the sector, the possibility of participating in technical conferences or free subscription to AgroBank magazine, among others.

The person in charge of AgroBank in the Canary Islands, Mª del Carmen Moreno, explained that the main objective is to offer solutions to the farmer or rancher, differentiating itself from the rest due to proximity, the products and services, in offices identified with a different decoration intended for the sector.

The visit concluded in the banana crops of COAGRISÁN, where the delegation was able to take photographs in front of the plant grown by the director of the entity in La Aldea last June and of which, in all probability, you can taste their bananas.
