THE EVENT WILL FEATURE THE MAIN WINERY IN THE AREA AND THE PARTICIPATION OF EXPERTS.
The town hall of Gáldar, through the Department of Economic Development and with the collaboration of the Cabildo of Gran Canaria, organizes the presentation event of the wines from the northern region of Gran Canaria obtained after last year's good harvest 2012.
To comment on these wines made in Gáldar and Agaete, Rasa Strankauskaite will be present, great defender and propagator of Canarian wines and one of the most appreciated and recognized sommeliers of this archipelago.
He currently works as a sommelier at Hecansa and will tell attendees about the qualities, the aroma and character of the wines from this area of Gran Canaria. Juan Socas also participates, president of the Gran Canaria Tasting Committee and director of the Wine Classroom of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
The wines that participate this year in the presentation of the Northern wines are from the Los Berrazales wineries (semiseco 2012 and ink 2012), The Ecological Wise: The Caleton (sweet red with 24 months in barrel and red Listán Negro and Castilian with 31 months in barrel) and from the Vega de Gáldar: “Nubia” 2012 Gual variety; Viña Amable and El Convento ecological 2012 and 2011.
It will be a great opportunity to learn about the excellent wines that are produced in this area and check the quality and variety that exists., after a harvest that according to experts has been better than the previous year.
The event will be held at the Captain Quesada de Gáldar House this coming Friday. 21 June at 20:30 hours.
