FROM TODAY AND UNTIL THE NEXT 29 IN SEPTEMBER THERE WILL BE DEBATE ON ORGANIC PRODUCTION AND AGROECOLOGY.

The event is held in Albacete, at the University of Castilla La Mancha and will address current affairs, Practical workshops will be held and the Eco-eLabora awards will be presented.

The SEAE has set three objectives in this biannual meeting: to) Identify and analyze the impacts of the global crisis and the resilient capacity of ecological production; b) share knowledge and research results in organic production and ways to disseminate them and apply them, y c) propose actions that favor the development of ecological agricultural production that serve to face the future challenges of food production.

The upcoming reform of the CAP makes it more necessary, If it is worth, reflection on the future of the rural world. For this reason, The Congress will provide a framework for reflection and debate on innovative methods that ensure profitable and lasting agrosystems, that offer more employment, give more importance to the role of women and at the same time facilitate the incorporation of young people into the countryside to ensure generational change.

The presentations will deal with “Diversity and the fight against hunger”, “Globalization and food sovereignty”, “Diversification, agrotourism and environment”, “Organic livestock and animal welfare”, “European Innovation Partnership (EIP) and Horizon 2020 Program” o “agroecology, Resilience and Climate Change”.

All presentations will be given by recognized professionals in the sector such as: Jose Esquinas (UCO), Clara Nicholls (SOCLA-Colombia), Gustavo Duch (VsF-Food Sovereignty), Xavier Montagut (Solidarity Consumption Network) Javier Calatrava (IFAPA).

The workshops will be held on: Organic gardens with the method “Gaspar Caballero”; “Ethnobotany, local varieties and agrobiodiversity”; “Animal traction and bread making”; “Production of organic olive oil with sheep”; “Organic mushroom production” and “Organic corn production”.

Within the framework of the Congress, the Eco-eLabora Awards are established for the generation and management of knowledge on ecological production. The final goal of the project “Eco-eLabora: training for the organic agri-food industry”, is to contribute to the improvement of the environmental and food quality of life of the population in rural areas., thus adding value to primary production and achieving greater benefits..
