IT IS CELEBRATED WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF EAGF 2013 AND IT HAS 10.000 EUROS IN PRIZES.

EAGF 2013 will take place in the next few days 18, 19, 20 and 21 April, at the Pozo Negro fairgrounds, organized by the Department of agriculture, Livestock and Fishing of the Cabildo of Fuerteventura and with the collaboration of all the town councils of the island.

Next to the fairgrounds, that has 32 stands, The organization will enable the following spaces: a private sector venue, livestock enclosure (where goat farmers will exhibit their animals, sheep, cows, majoreros birds and donkeys), restaurant area, pastry and craft area, competition area (with two rings where livestock auctions and dog and livestock competitions are held), a tent for the stage, a racecourse and parking.

Regarding the XI National Goat's Milk Cheese Competition “Tabefe awards Fuerteventura”, The registration period ends next Monday 15 April, while the presentation of the cheeses can be done until 19 April at the Cheese Contest facilities, inside the Pozo Negro fairgrounds.

The Contest grants a total of 10.000 € in prizes, adding the different categories. The cheese that receives the best score will also be awarded as 'Best Cheese of the Canary Islands 2013'.

The Competition will have a jury made up of tasters representing the following designations of origin of goat's milk cheeses: Manchega, Murcia, Gallega, Ibores-Extremadura, Palmero and Majorero. In addition to technicians from the Canary Institute of Agrarian Research and the Government of the Canary Islands.

During the Fair, the public will be able to take guided tours of the Experimental Farm nurseries and the oil mill., where the olive oil production process will be explained. You can also visit the Agri-Food Laboratory that opened its facilities last year..
