2_22203_eThe president of the Spanish Federation of Producers and Exporters of Fruits, Vegetables, Flowers and Live Plants (FEPEX), Jorge Campillo Brotóns, He has been re-elected in office for the next four years, as it has been agreed in the Assembly meeting in Madrid.

In the same Assembly also it approved the Plan of Action 2015 and it has been closed by the Secretary General of Agriculture, Food and environment, Carlos cabins.

It is the second re-election of Jorge Brotóns as president of FEPEX, position he has held since December 2006. He is also president of the Federation of Employers of Fruit and Horticultural Products of Alicante, FEXPHAL and president of Bonnysa Agrifood, company dedicated to the production and marketing of fruit and vegetables, effective productive in the regions of Murcia, Andalusia, Valencia and the Canary Islands.

In the Assembly of FEPEX has analyzed the evolution of the main variables that determine the situation of the sectors represented, in the case of fruit and vegetables they have seen a decline in the export of the 0,4% until October, totalizing 8.351 million euros, FEPEX and expects the year 2014 conclude with a decline in the value, breaking the positive developments in the sector.

The Assembly also approved the Plan of Action 2015, It is including the activities that the Federation will be held in different areas of activity: agricultural policy, commercial, sociolaboral, investigation, markets and promotion mainly, with the main objective of contributing to maintain profitability and social and economic sustainability of the sectors represented, promoting productive activity, export and employment.

Priority actions 2015 highlights related to the opening of new markets in the field of trade policy, the implementation of the reform of the CAP in Spain, rural development policy, Conversely phytosanitary policy strategy in imports from third countries and innovation, among the main.

FEPEX Assembly consists of representatives of the 30 Integrated associations grouped into four sectors:

Production and export of fresh fruits and vegetables, majority sector in the Federation, in which are integrated 17 associations; production and marketing of potato, with 4 associations; production and marketing of fruits and vegetables prepared, a national association and the production and marketing of flowers and live plants, with 8 associations.

Opening headquarters in Brussels next week.

As well, in the same Assembly, FEPEX has approved the opening of an office in Brussels next week.

The general director of FEPEX, José María Pozancos, He explained that this office will try to improve the dialogue with the European Commission, The European Parliament and the representatives of the Member States.

In the Belgian headquarters of FEPEX will work daily two employees, one graduate in Political Science and second in Law, who compile reports for the Federation and attend meetings with EU institutions.
