Within the framework of the last edition of Fruit Attraction 2010, the multinational KOPPERT Spain together with its delegation in the Canary Islands, presented three important novelties. But the one that perhaps captured the most attention from the attendees was the new seedbed release strategy tested in La Aldea.

Among the advantages of this proven methodology, those responsible for KOPPERT highlight greater speed, efficiency and increased density of the predator in the crop. Regarding the benefit to the farmer, KOPPERT points out the considerable cost savings, work and instruction due to the characteristics of centralization.

With everything, This new method is the bet that is obtaining the best result in the fight against the Tutta Absoluta and the White Fly. Producers, Exporters and companies in the sector showed their interest in the figures that considerably improve any previous treatment.KOPPERT and Fruit AttractionKOPPERT guarantees the control of the tomato moth if a technical plan of action is carried out from the beginning of the crop, which must be based on the joint application of various control measures.

Director – manager of KOPPERT Canarias, Rafael Alonso told Agroaldea that these measures must be preventive (good greenhouse enclosures); biotechnical methods that allow calculating the risk estimate; biological fight whose main value is the Nesidiocoris tenuis; cultural measures and chemical control.

Alonso concludes that the application of all the above measures concludes in the effective control of the Tuta. Field observation and joint work with farmers allowed the implementation of the new method, which is giving very positive results..

Regarding the experience carried out in La Aldea, KOPPERT is carrying out detailed monitoring of crops by zones and surfaces, in addition to measuring a significant number of items directly and indirectly related to the release.

In addition to this new strategy, the framework of the Fruit Attraction served to present the results of Palmanem for the control of the Red Palm Weevil, "An innovative product, highly effective and respectful with humans and the environment ".

The third of KOPPERT's novelties was the presentation of a new format, cheaper and with higher benefits, with which it markets the parasitic wasp Anagyrus pseudococci, Citripar Pupa.

This product has been shown as an effective alternative to achieve the control of Molasses (Planococcus citri), one of the main pests in table grape cultivation.
