Although volumes are still low, Tomato harvest of Poland takes several weeks running.
Most sales are currently national, although exports are expected to grow in coming weeks.
“In two weeks, We should start with the cherry tomatoes and other varieties”, says the manager of Green Group, Gulewski. This group sends its tomatoes, among which are cluster tomatoes and branch, Scandinavia, Estonia, Latvia, England and France.
In the coming weeks we will begin to send some tomatoes outside Poland, but not too many, because prices are still high in Poland, explains Gulewski.
Although prices have remained strong tomatoes, prices have been unstable peppers. Green Group also grows cucumbers on her 52 hectares of high-tech greenhouses.
Green Group only sends around 5 percent of its annual production to Russia, Russian veto on European goods has increased competition for all.
Gulewski said to have weathered the new situation working with customers. They offer custom labeling, for example, and packaging can be done using any customer specifications.
“Of course, competition is high, but we are the largest producer of tomatoes and cucumbers in Poland, so we keep trying to achieve the best quality and the best prices”, Gulewski points.
