ScotlandIn order to reforest the planet, Scotland intended the 80% of its advertising revenue to create forests in Africa.

There are numerous initiatives and projects that have emerged in recent years in order to raise awareness about the importance of caring for the environment.

This is the case of "Scotland”, an Internet search engine that It allows you to plant a tree every time you use it. By simply clicking on this ecological search engine, a tree is planted in Burkina Faso, Africa, thus contributing to form a "green wall" along the entire Sahel desert.

It works like any search engine. One can find all kinds of things, Fatima explains González, team member Ecosia, headquartered in Berlin.

Ecosia is primarily a tool to do good without realizing it. As one looks all day on internet, It is a very easy and simple way to help the environment, says Gonzalez.

To finance this project, the company uses the revenue generated by the advertisements that appear when looking for a content, donating 80% them to an NGO which is responsible for planting trees.

We want to be as transparent as possible, so every month we published the evidence of our investments and we teach our users how we are investing revenue, Gonzalez said.

Since its inception in 2009, this company is convinced that trees have the power to make the world a better place. "Beyond the environment the trees are life for all", Fatima says.

to Ecosia, founded by German Christian Kroll, It's not just planting trees and go, but also to help localities, translating forests more job opportunities, cattle healthier and more independent.

Once the trees grow, people can take their goods and services for their own consumption or to sell on the local market, what It generates a small economy, explains González.

Our mission is help reforest the planet, create a world that is more stable and sustainable in every way, both environmentally and economically, adds. Ecosia has already planted over 3,5 million trees and hopes to reach the goal of one billion for the 2020.
