plataformardtf2THE PLATFORM FOR THE DEFENSE OF TOMATO ANNOUNCES A WEEK OF MEETINGS IN WHICH THE PRESIDENT OF THE GOVERNMENT OF THE CANARY ISLANDS AND THE PRESIDENT OF THE COUNCIL OF GRAN CANARIA STAND OUT.

Meeting as a matter of urgency and having assessed the latest news, the Platform for the Defense of Tomatoes, Fruits and Vegetables of the Canary Islands has decided to cancel and postpone the concentration scheduled for the next day 1 of July, and condition it to the result of the procedures that will be carried out next week.

These news refer to the upcoming publication of the resolution on compensation for the transportation of 2013; the meetings that will be held throughout the week with the leaders of the political parties (PP, PSOE and CC); the interview with the president of the Cabildo of Gran Canaria and the meeting with the president of the Government of the Canary Islands.

Being the spirit and object of this Platform to maintain an attitude, preferably, of dialogue, compromise and negotiator, That is why we agreed to continue with this attitude and evaluate the responses, before creating a climate of confrontation that is neither our objective nor benefits the parties.

If a satisfactory result is not obtained that allows the continuity of the sector, the activity and the almost 20.000 Job positions, This Platform will continue with the program of actions and mobilizations to demand compliance with the administrations' commitments.
