The initiative of a Colombian student provides food to low-income households and offers them an economic alternative.
In Central America and Latin America poverty continues to be a burden that has persisted for a century. In the capitalist system, it is very difficult for a person who is born without resources to be able to acquire a heritage, something like, it's very difficult to start if you don't have what to do.
Therefore, initiatives that empower people with few resources, providing them with the means to start a productive life, they are usually very useful.
In this line, Carolina Forero, Colombian student, created the Ecotecho initiative that takes advantage of the roofs of homes with few resources to fit empty bottles of 2 liters of soft drink for growing lettuce and radishes.
This idea, offers beneficiaries the opportunity to keep some of the food and the rest to sell in the markets. It is an option that could be extended to dozens of countries in the area.
