The Cultural Classroom of Wine Tourism and Gastronomic Tourism, an entity dependent on the Vice-Rectorate of University and Society Relations of the University of La Laguna, offers its range of courses and workshops for the first edition of the AGROTF University Campus.

This first edition of the AGROTF University Campus will have five workshops and two courses that will be held in morning and afternoon sessions, and are carried out by academics and professionals, as well as protagonists of the sector who share their points of view and reflections on current issues in the primary sector and especially in the wine industry..

The importance of food in health is becoming increasingly evident., as well as the virtues that organic foods contribute to this. That is why the main objective of this workshop focuses on learning in a simple way and within everyone's reach., to value the quality of organic foods.

The teaching staff of the course will be made up of agricultural engineers Mª Nélida Melián Capote, and Pedro Tenoury Domínguez. The workshop has an eminently practical design, in order to achieve learning and the development of practical skills during the five hours of the same.

This first edition of the AGROTF University Campus has the support of the Agriculture Area of ​​the Cabildo of Tenerife, the Tenerife Wine House, Tenerife Tourism, the City Council of El Sauzal, Tenerife Moda and the General Foundation of the University of La Laguna.

Conserving and promoting spaces of high value and great visual aesthetics such as wineries, in order to ensure a set of resources of interest for development and tourism in these rural spaces.

The course 'The landscape of wine, a space of high sensory value’ It is coordinated by geographer Miguel Febles Ramírez, and has the participation of professionals from the territory and oenology, Gustavo Pestana, Juan Enrique by Luis Bravo and Fermín Gigante.

These teachers will combine technical and geographical talks that will define the vineyard landscapes in the Canary Islands, specifying it in Tenerife and in some specific landscapes of the island; with more sensory sessions in which through games and tastings we will delve deeper into these landscapes through our senses.

The objectives of the course are to reflect on the importance of these landscapes in the island territory. “We intend to bring to light and experiment with the landscape of the vineyard and wine as a complete sensory experience in which all the senses play., from sight to taste to touch, hearing and smell”, explained its coordinator Miguel Febles.
