The Canarian Institute of Agrarian Research, ICIA, The development is planned this coming Thursday 15 of July, of two Technical Conferences related to the biological control of the lepidoptera Noctuidae and Tuta Absoluta.

The first of the Conferences is co-organized with Asprocan and is financed by the Transnational Cooperation Project MAC/1/C054 “BIOMUSA”. The program of the talks is as follows:

17:10 Trichogramma achaeae: a new alternative in the biological control of lepidopterans. Dr. Enrique Vila. Department. R&D of the AgroBio company, Almería.

17:40 Round table: Is Trichogramma a new tool in the biological control of the banana lizard in the Canary Islands?

The second of the Conferences is organized by the ICIA and has as its central axis the biological control of Tuta ABSOLUTA. The program is as follows:

18:00 Biological control strategies of Tuta ABSOLUTA in Spain. Dr. Tomas Cabello Garcia. Department. Applied Biology, University of Almeria.

18:40 Results of the tests carried out with Trichogramma achaeae for the biological control of Tuta ABSOLUTA in Almería. Dr. Enrique Vila. Department. R&D of the AgroBio company, Almería.

Both Conferences will be held at the headquarters of the Canary Islands Technological Institute on Pozo Izquierdo Beach in the municipality of Santa Lucía de Tirajana.
