This time the grapes were harvested near 3.000 muscat grapes kilos, malvasía, blanco list, y negro list tintilla.
Fourteen years, the municipality of Agüimes organizes the harvest of the grapes to be used for winemaking `Lordship of Agüimes'. This time a total of twelve growers and viticultural municipality participated in the harvest on their own farms.
In total, in this campaign they have been collected 2.978 kilos of grapes, very similar to last year's figure when collected 2.970,50 kilos of grapes. This year, 1.210 kilos correspond to white grape, varieties of muscadine, Malvasia and white listán; and the others 1.768 kilos are red grape, listán particular varieties of black and tintilla.
The grapes are harvested very early, "With cool", and it becomes a social event in which participating vintners and wine growing, their families and friends, who are responsible for the careful selection of fruits and collected entirely by hand, since it requires some pampering to avoid damaging the grapes, that they are deposited clustered in small boxes where they are stored.
Like this, after completing collection tasks in each particular farm, boxes of freshly picked grapes are transferred to the municipal warehouse Agüimes, where once they received the relevant checks are performed, to start after making processes that are subjected grapes to become wine.
After work and as is tradition, vintage is celebrated with a stall in the picnic area "Milano", with typical local products such as meat of black pig Los Cercadillos, cheese, olives and bread Agüimes, among other foods, accompanied as it could not be otherwise for wine `Lordship of Agüimes'.
